Abstract :
The application of nonlinear input-output linearization techniques to the control of induction motors is presented. Practical issues concerning discrete time implementation, rotor flux observation and stator current limitation are presented. The use of a high speed digital signal processor (DSP) is particularly appropriate, facilitating a small sampling period and advanced control algorithms. The authors´ control scheme is implemented on an industrial induction motor variable speed drive. Practical results are given showing the feasibility of the approach
