Abstract :
In this paper a wideband circularly polarized stacked microstrip antenna using a single feed with a crossed slot on the bottom patch has been proposed. With this crossed slot on the bottom patch, the axial ratio bandwidth is increased considerably and the size of the antenna is reduced. The 12 dB gain, 3 dB axial ratio and 10 dB return loss bandwidth of the 2/spl times/2 array are 27.4%, 34.6% and 35.9%, respectively. They all cover a similar frequency range. The 8/spl times/8 array has been manufactured and its impedance bandwidth is shown to be in good agreement with that of simulation.
