Abstract
A service analysis is presented for three classes of customers´ premises network environments: the residential (home), medium-office, and large-office environments. The service analysis includes audio and video broadcast services and has to be seen in the time frame 1995-2000. High-definition television has not been taken into account. The analysis is based on the Erlang theory and as such is only an approximation, but gives a good idea of the service requirements from the customers´ point of view. After introduction of the proposed architecture for the customers´ premises network, interface payload requirements are derived for the terminal and network interfaces
