Abstract
In this paper, an inward scaled loop antenna (ISLA) is presented. It is created by successive scaling and rotating and fitting the scaled copies of a wideband loop antenna (WBLA) in the empty space available in it. The overall size of the antenna remains the same as that of the WBLA. The advantage of an ISLA is its improved input performance as compared to the WBLA. Impedance bandwidth of the order of 80% at 2.5 GHz is obtained. Experimental data are in reasonable agreement with the simulated results.
