Abstract :
This paper presents the noise conducted electromagnetic emission spectrum from compact fluorescent lamp. It is also presented a proposal to reduce noise level. The tests were made on typical 15 W and 18 W compact fluorescents lamps with electronic self-ballast. The measured conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission spectrum and the proposal circuit to reduce the noise level for three lamps manufacturers are presented. The test setup is referred to CISPR-15 standard, covering the frequency between 9 kHz to 30 MHz. The measured results for the lamps with and without the proposal filter, to reduce the conducted EMI, are presented.
