Abstract :
Current researches take into account obtaining of sinusoidal waveforms corresponding to the voltages provided by wind generators, for use in domestic applications and beyond. This paper analyzes the performances obtained by design and simulation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a specialized software package that uses FEM (Finite Element Method). A low speed three phase generator with external rotor topology was considered for the study. By the arrangement of permanent magnets in the rotor structure and the adopted direction of magnetization, it was aimed to obtain sinusoidal induced voltages in the stator windings. In this case it is also obtained a high resistance to demagnetization of the permanent magnets. Simulation results are presented for both load and no-load regimes of the generator.
