Abstract
This article describes how to use a three-dimensional MODFLOW model, paired with MT3D, to predict groundwater pollution caused by oil pipeline leakage. Then using geological and hydraulic data, the potential area of oil pollutant transport and its concentration were simulated by MODFLOW and MT3D, making it possible to ultimately predict the scope and extent of groundwater pollution. The model is a valuable contribution to the ever-advancing technology of groundwater assessment.
