Abstract :
We investigate the problem of ranging estimation in a dense multipath environment, applying a technique based on the power delay profile analysis of the received UWB signal. First, we present the theory of segmentation for nonstationary processes, exploited for delay estimation, then we validate the estimator considering real UWB indoor signals, thus showing that good accuracy can be reached even in dense non-LoS multipath. Finally, ranging in a realistic UWB system with a low number of interfering nodes has been simulated.
