Abstract :
In this paper, a PLC-IPC (programmable logic controller-industrial personal computer) based control system for high power cycle water pump system in large thermal power plant in inner Mongolia has been developed. The Schneider Quantum hot stand PLC system and the Advantech IPC system work as lower and upper computer system individually. The Kingview configuration software was adopted to program the man-machine interface monitoring and controlling system. The MB+ (Modbus Plus) network was also adopted in communication. The. designed system has high performance and has been operating very well for years.
