  • Abstract
    This review article presents an overview of the soil moisture measuring technique using microwave radiometry. Remote sensing of soil moisture is a promising field of research if accuracy can be achieved. The optimal frequency to estimate at this state using microwave radiometry is at L-band (~1.4GHz). In this article analysis of basics of soil microwave sensing, parameters responsible for radiation variation, soil dielectric properties and retrieval algorithm is discussed mainly. In the end discussion on synchronization of soil microwave radiation receiving by polarimetric radiometer, conclusions and future perspective has been presented.
