Abstract :
A solution to the problem of teaching the medical staff at hospitals and clinics the difficult subject of cardiac pacemakers is discussed. An interactive and self-instructive computer program for this purpose is described. The programming platform is HyperCard with the programming language HyperTalk. This system allows the development of teaching applications with an extensive use of illustrative pictures, animations, buttons to press, and pop-up text fields, all to transfer the optimal amount of information in a way that involves the pupil. A description of the function of the program as seen by the user is given, and examples are included of how the various effects and functions are programmed in the HyperTalk programming language
