Abstract
In this paper, a local phase correction method is proposed and demonstrated to effectively mitigate mode conversion in coupled transmission line bends leading to significant improvement in their high-speed performance. Signal loss and mode conversion improvements by more than 5 dB and 16 dB respectively at 50 GHz are reported for experimental prototypes. Good correlation has been established among analytical predictions, full-wave electromagnetic simulations and measurements.
