Abstract
Summary form only given. Microwave technology was considered as a war time secrecy initially and it was just after the golden period (1935-1945) of Microwaves, its applications started encompassing the non-military fields as well. Since then, the entire Microwave field has undergone tremendous revolution and gone through a ses change. The first planar transmission line dasiaStrip transmission linepsila (Barrett and Barnes) was proposed in 1951. Then came microstrip. This was followed by slot line, coplanar waveguide and finline. If at all there is unbelievable growth in Space technology communication, it is due to planar transmission lines. Lumped equivalents of distributed theory of Microwaves play a very big role in the design of microwave integrated circuit design. These phenomena along with the computer applications make every one, especially the student community (who normally have aversion towards MICROWAVES) come forward to design the M.I.C. components and then System design a ´CHILD´S PLAY´. The essentials of Microwave circuit theory and then the usage of Computer aided design (without using commercial software) of all M.I.C. components will be dealt in the talk. At the end one should be in a position to design any Microwave component in any planar transmission line of interest. In short, a generalized universal design of M.I.C. components will be dealt with.
