Abstract
Taiwan´s electric & electrical industry was initiated via TV sets & radio sets, and gradually established and strengthened through a variety of products, e.g., game, consoles, PC (ITE), cellular phones etc., in different time periods. In addition, Taiwan´s industry sectors also stepped into the fields of designing and producing IC components, and the manufacturers all need the EMC field´s support for placing their products on the market. This paper gives an overview of how the EMC technique in Taiwan is developed and evolved from very basic measurement to advanced simulation know-how. Moreover, it also briefly introduces how BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection) plays its role to lead Taiwan´s EMC industry by co-working with test houses, manufacturers and academics.
