Abstract :
Ammonia removal performance measurements of the biotrickling filter packed with zeolite were undertaken under different COD loadings, EBRTs, feeding rates and ionic strengths. It was found that the experimental conditions had effect on the removal efficiency. Ammonia could be removed effectively under the premium condition. The removal efficiency is higher than 95% when inlet ammonia concentration is lower than 442 mg/m3. The kinetics of substrate decomposing research shows that the kinetics of substrate decomposing constant kept stable at steady state. In this experiment, the nitrifization rate constant is about 3.4 at steady state.
