Abstract :
What this paper study is the influence of electric locomotive loads to three kinds of pickup unit of microcomputer relay protection. A model is constructed by EMTDC/PSCAD, containing typical power grid and three kinds of pickup unit of microcomputer relay protection. The influence degree by electric locomotive loads to the phase abrupt current pickup unit, the phase-phase abrupt current pickup unit and the half-wave integral pickup unit is discussed, using theories analysis combined with EMTDC/PSCAD simulation. The theoretical basis for the choice of pickup unit is provided in the area where electric locomotive loads are heavy.
