Abstract :
Based on the pilot scale experiment in a Water Treatment Plant in South China and combined with molecular weight (MW) distribution of organic matter, this study mainly evaluated the removal effect of organic matter in different molecular weight, assimilable organic carbon (AOC) by using ozonation in combination with biological activated carbon (BAC). And influence of substance that is mutagenic is evaluated by using Ames test. The study showed that the combined ozonation/BAC process was effective and had great advantage on advanced treatment of drinking water in China.
