Abstract
This paper deals with the design of Wideband Microstrip Array Antenna that operates for the 4GHz to 6GHz frequency range, by inserting Electromagnetic Band gap (EBG) structures. The designed model is simulated using CST microwave studio software. The Wideband Microstrip Array Antenna using EBG structure is designed, simulated and fabricated in order to obtain the desired performance properties. For the realisation of array antenna, a Wilkinson power divider is designed with step impedance resonator (SIR) structures in place of traditional divider to improve the performance. The simulated and fabricated results for return loss and radiation pattern are presented.
