Abstract :
This paper presents various power quality issues, voltage unbalance and harmonic distortion on a three phase power transformer. In our power system different power stations including substations deliver power to different loads along with traction which causes voltage unbalance resulting in large energy loss. In today´s situation we can´t afford these much energy loss as we are at the peaking edge of energy scarcity. So this paper has greater scope as it analyses effects of voltage unbalance on power system. MATLAB simulation model is used for this analysis. A large amount of energy can be saved by reducing the voltage unbalance due to traction load and this paper provides awareness to the society.
