Abstract
Regulation of boost converter output voltage under dynamic load variations is of major challenge in industrial applications. This paper presents a technique to address dynamic load variations using peak current mode control in a boost converter. The mathematical modeling and digital implementation of peak current mode control for boost converter operating in continuous conduction mode is discussed. The limitation of control mechanism due to sub harmonic oscillations is minimized by providing slope compensation. Simulation and experimental results are presented for a peak current mode controlled boost converter operating with 8V to 10V input voltage and 20V, 100 W power output.
