Abstract :
The static var compensators (SVC) are widely used for the electrical power system and the industrial customers, while high level electromagnetic interference (EMI) produced by the semiconductor switching may cause malfunction of the SVC or unaccepted response of victim devices positioned nearby. According to the configuration of a SVC and the dynamic performance of the random load, equivalent models are established to simulate the electromagnetic emissions using Matlab Power Systems Blocksets as to predict the conducted EMI levels. The simulation results are correlated to the measured ones to verify the effectiveness of the proposed models.
