Abstract :
Public health services involved with influenza need knowledge about where and when cases have appeared. In 2009, researchers in the College of Public Health, Institute of Epidemiology, National Taiwan University (NTU) developed prototype software to collect and show disease outbreak data by using web tools. Now, we want mobile phones and other mobile devices to be able to supply data to the same server application that was developed in Taiwan. We have created an application for mobile phones which allows users to enter information about flu incidents into a form to report illness symptoms, date, location and other information. Users can use the flu incident reporting application on a mobile phone to report flu incidences wherever they are and whenever they encounter flu symptoms. A medical team can use this information to predict and minimize influenza.
