Abstract :
V-BLAST is an effective detection method for MIMO OFDM communication, but it has a large computational complexity. Based on the similarity between the matrices of the neighboring subcarrier channels, this paper proposes a simplified method to lessen its computation. In this method, the ordinary V-BLAST detections are first made for some subcarrier channels, then, by their pseudoinverses, the approximate pseudoinverses of their neighboring channels are subsequently calculated out, and finally the V-BLAST detections of these neighboring channels are accomplished by these pseudoinverses. As a result of this simplification, the computational complexity of the detection is lowered significantly. Simulation results show that the simplified V-BLAST method significantly reduces the complexity of the detection while achieving a very close BER performance to the ordinary one.
