Abstract

This paper presents the security aspect on providing the moving office service which extended the traditional office LAN to cellular network. Logical macro-cell (LMC) makes use of IP packet multicast to support micro-mobility of the VPN tunnel. We discuss the reasonability and feasibility of concealment of original IP address to achieve the protection of users´ privacy. This paper elaborate several alternative security scenarios to fulfill the security requirements of the mobile multimedia metropolitan area network (MM-MAN), which is proposed to offer high-bit-rate IP-based communications for high-mobility terminals inside metropolitan areas. We also give a quantitative analysis of the overhead ratio per packet in each shortcut services and compare the efficiency of all scenarios. We conclude that private IP address combine with IPSec VPN tunnel can provide the outstanding protection of message property.
