Abstract
The effect on the band gap structure by the various disorder of both location and size in the hollow core triangular lattice photonic crystal fiber (HCTL-PCF) is investigated by means of the FDTD method and the Perfect Match Layers (PML) boundary absorbing condition. The results show that more and more defect modes emerge in the bang gap as the disorder degree increasing, the band gaps get narrow as the disorder degree increases, and the optical field distribution is obtained when the source is sine wave whose frequency is in the band gap. It is found that the most energy is distributed in the air hole of the center of the fiber when the disorder degree is small enough.
