Abstract :
In the paper the requirements for the frequency stability of a transmitter in LFMCW MTD radar are considered. The linear model of carrier frequency rate is assumed. Relationships for range and velocity resolutions are derived. For explanatory reasons calculations for definite parameters of the sounding signals are performed. The considerations carried out lead to the conclusion that the requirements for frequency stability in relation to the velocity resolution are not stronger than for the range resolution
