Abstract :
Recently, P2P file distribution systems including the BitTorrent are used for distributing open source software, e.g., BSD OS. IP address of downloaders relate to session disconnection in each downloader during the file transmission. Session disconnection with changing IP address will impact efficiency of the file distribution using TCP as a transport layer protocol. To avoid the issue, we consider two candidates. One is to use IP mobility, e.g., MIP6, as a network layer protocol for all downloaders. The other is to modify a transport or application layer protocol to tolerate disconnection with changing address. In this paper, we propose P2P file distribution systems using IP mobility to gain transmission bandwidth. We show experimental results of file distribution based on BitTorrent software with IP mobility running on downloaders are periodically changing IP address.
