Abstract :
The authors introduce the use of multifrequency binary sequences, sometimes known as MBS or MFBS, for multifrequency binary testing, or MBT, in a calibration laboratory. MBS test signals, which give multifrequency response estimates of circuits and networks, are used in the calibration of an unknown resistance in an arm of an R-R ratio as well as an unknown capacitance in the arm of a C-C ratio. A classification of signals in measurement shows that MBS signals belong to the group of binary, periodic, deterministic test signals. It is concluded that MBT gives multifrequency response estimates using frequency analysis by the correlation method. Expressions for the errors of measurement are derived
