Abstract :
Characteristics of radio propagation in tunnels are influenced by several factors, such as the shape and transverse dimensions of tunnels, the frequency, the direction of polarization and electrical parameters of the surrounding material of tunnels. In this paper, taking a circular tunnel and a rectangular tunnel as examples, the influence of electrical parameters on UHF radio propagation are analyzed. The conclusion gives a reference to design the wireless communication system in tunnels.
