Abstract
Wind shear and tower shadow make the wind speed in the rotor rotating plane changing with the azimuth and lead to fluctuation of load and output power. This paper firstly analyzed the wind speed model on rotor rotating plane considering the wind shear and tower shadow. The hub axial load and mechanical power models were constructed with blade element theory. The influences of wind shear and tower shadow on the load and power were quantificationally analyzed. Wind shear and tower shadow will result in 3p frequency fluctuation in load and power and the influence of tower shadow is more prominent than that of the wind shear.
