  • Abstract
The order in which samples entering a communications receiver are processed does not need to match the order in which they are collected. For instance, samples could be processed starting with the last one received and then proceeding to the first one, When applied to infinite impulse response filtering, time reversal can enhance and simplify equalization functions that are typically handled by finite impulse response filters. This paper presents the concept of time reversal, outlines its advantages, and illustrates both with an example
