  • Abstract
A software simulation of a QPSK TDMA radio link subject to interference from analog FM mobile radio is described. Log-normal shadowing and multipath fading are simulated by superposing a finite number of random paths. The channel impulse response h(t) is assumed to be finite and constant for the duration of a transmission burst. A recursive algorithm is used to estimate h(t) for each burst, in order to reduce the intersymbol interference (ISI) due to the delay spread. Block coding, interleaving, and error correction are simulated. The results of the simulation are used to estimate the sensitivity of the overall bit error probability Pb(SIR) to changes in the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR)
