  • Abstract
Computer simulations were used to investigate the interference characteristics of TDMA in-building wireless systems. These simulations were designed to answer the following questions. Is the interference mainly from a single dominant interferer or a number of strong equal power interferers? For situations with a strong dominant interferer, what is the probability that it is a co-channel interferer? These investigations were conducted on a number of system scenarios with different system parameters. Simulation results show a high probability of a dominant interferer. In general, interference cancellation techniques work best to suppress a single dominant interferer. Therefore, improvements in system performance with increased traffic capacity and improved communications quality are expected by incorporating these techniques
