  • Abstract
BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. (BST) is deploying services using the advanced intelligent network (AIN) platform, and is carrying out trials on a personal number service in Atlanta, Georgia using the AIN 0.0 protocol. This service is the first in BST to use all the elements of the BST AIN platform, and enables a subscriber to be reached via the use of a single personal number. The subscriber is given several options for call routing to maximize access, as well as a screening feature to provide control over who is calling. The paper describes this AIN service, its architecture and issues associated with developing applications on the AIN platform
