Abstract :
An insulating system monitoring station was built close to sea and had many different types of devices tested. In this work it is reported the results of leakage current of ceramic, hybrid and polymeric 25 kV insulators, used in electrical distribution systems. Along with the leakage current, some weather variables were simultaneously measured which are humidity, temperature, wind speed and direction and rainfall. The leakage current is shown for each insulator tested along with the weather conditions. The analysis presents a comparison of the performance among the devices tested and shows the influence of the weather variables over their performance.
