  • Abstract
The paper discusses the synthesis and implementation of control circuits that are built based on reusable templates with a reprogrammable core that is decomposed into blocks. The functionality of a control circuit is presented in the form of a behavioral specification of a finite state machine (FSM). In order to construct a FSM based on reprogrammable blocks with a modest size, the paper suggests a state assignment technique that allows the functional dependency of outputs on inputs for circuits that implement state transitions to be reduced
