Abstract
Dielectric loss measurement is a powerful method for identifying defects in insulation systems. For the purposes of obtaining stable and effective data under on-line measurement conditions, robust interference rejection is needed. The authors have developed the zero cross point voltage comparing method (ZCPV method) and the digital zero cross point voltage comparing method (DZCPV method), which measure dielectric loss efficiently. However, both methods require automatic adjustment of the input signal amplitude. This paper presents different types of control systems to satisfy the requirements for the ZCPV and DZCPV methods. The control methods introduced are simple and the controllers are low cost, suitable for field application
