Abstract
One feature of PCS is that a user can make and receive calls at any locations using the same phone number. This is number mobility. In order to provide number mobility, the network has to be able to locate the called user and then route the call. The process involves updating network´s knowledge about user´s current location and mapping of the PCS number received from the calling user to the called user´s current address. In this paper, we survey the existing number mobility techniques. These techniques are grouped according to their functionalities. Advantages and limitations of these techniques are discussed
