Abstract
We demonstrate a novel, direct space-to-time optical pulse shaping technique for the generation of burst millimeter-wave signals at center frequencies approaching 50 GHz. By appropriately tailoring the optical pulse sequences driving a high-speed optical-to-electrical converter, we generate arbitrarily phase- and frequency-modulated millimeter waveforms.
