Abstract :
Bit-interleaved coded modulation serves as a coded-modulation scheme with low complexity over OFDM transmission. In this paper, BICM-OFDM system is studied with different orthogonal bases: DFT and DWPT. The BER performance of these two cases are the same over AWGN channel, which is consistent with theory, while DWPT case performs better than DFT over multipath fading channel due to higher level of spectral containment. There´s no performance difference for different numbers of subchannel for fixed-scale wavelet packet transform. And it´s important to make tradeoff between BER performance and wavelet filter complexity.
