Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical study on a planar waveguide surface plasmon biosensor based on the Otto Configuration. The analysis employs an eigenmode solver with perfectly mached layers (PML) to provide insight into optimization of sensor sensitivity and full width at half maximum (FWHM). It has been shown that by selecting appropriate design parameters, it is possible to achieve sensor sensitivity 3400 nm/RIU and FWHM of 180.81nm for an aqueous analyte.
