Abstract
A new MUSE decoder, for the reception of the HDTV broadcast signal, has been developed. This MUSE decoder, utilizing accurate motion detection, new interpolation method and refined nonlinear deemphasis, reproduces high quality HDTV pictures. Using this decoder, the feasibility of HDTV broadcasting by the MUSE system has been verified through a number of transmission tests.<>
