Abstract
Combing the traffic flows distribution of intersections in intelligent transportation system, the vehicle queues of the controlled phase and the neighboring phases, this paper proposes a multiphase adaptive fuzzy control algorithm and a designing scheme, and develops the adaptive algorithm of the fuzzy controller to modify the fuzzy rules in real-time and decides the allocation of green time, finally forms a effective accurate and safe transportation system. The simulation shows that the proposed fuzzy control algorithm is more effective to alleviate the traffic conditions
