Abstract :
In this paper, we demonstrate the effectiveness of a virtual arm wrestling system with virtual human and a 5-DOF force display system for the analysis by synthesis of force display communication characteristics by the strategies of force. First, we propose a force display response model on the basis of the dynamic analysis of force display which pushes back a subject´s power under a quantitative load by using the force display system. Next, the behavioral analysis and sensory evaluation demonstrate the effectiveness of the model based on the impact absorption of hand. Finally, we introduce the model into the virtual arm wrestling system, and evaluate the system.
