Abstract :
The static var generator (SVG) with appropriate control method is a good solution to solve the problem of reactive power impact and harmonic pollution which is generated by the nonlinear load. In this paper, a control strategy using active current separation and the current indirect control is used for SVG. The active current separation is a method for detecting the harmonic and reactive current, and then the sum of the harmonic and reactive current is used as the value of compensation. By studying on the method, we set up the simulation model and obtained the detection results of this algorithm, and we also get the reactive power compensation results. The theoretical analysis and simulation results illustrate the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.
