Abstract :
The paper provides an evaluative study of the impact of the Pro/ENGINEER designer´s package on learning outcomes in a first year mechanical engineering design subject. It is concluded that such packages can be used successfully to replace traditional pencil-and-paper approaches, and that their impact will be to change the way spatial concepts and visualisation are taught and developed
