Abstract :
The physical phenomena related to flashover processes on polluted insulators are analyzed in order to develop a mathematical model to represent them. To simulate in the mathematical model the arc ignition and extinction, a Mayr-type equation is used. The arc propagation is based on the dry-band increase. Comparison between experimental and model results show good agreement
