Abstract
The output feedback design for a two-loop acceleration autopilot of a tactical missile was presented from an optimal control perspective. The crossover frequency was introduced to. The equivalent actuator dynamics was introduced to obtain the overall stability condition. Then the control limitation of the autopilot was analyzed. The results show that the autopilot control capacity is dominated by actuator bandwidth, and a compromise should be determined between the flight performance and the actuator requirement for a static unstable tactical missile.
