Abstract
The Pearl River Delta is one of the most developed area in China, but the situation of the saltwater intrusion became more and more serious. The saltwater intrusion has influence the safe of getting flesh water. It is necessary to predict the situation of the saltwater intrusion in the dry season and take some action to restrain the saltwater intrusion. The paper introduced a 2-D and 3-D coupling flow and salinity mathematical model to study the tidal current fields and salt data in January, 2005, compared between computation results and the field data indicates that the model could reasonably simulate the hydrodynamic and salt fields, which can be the base of the research on the saltwater intrusion prediction technology.
