Abstract
Effects of successive generations of backscattered electrons on collector efficiency, distribution of current and heat dissipation density are presented for a two-stage depressed collector. Some later-generation electrons may proceed from the collector region towards the RF cavity, get mirrored back, land on another electrode and influence the operating parameters in important ways.
